Make A Contribution To Our Cause & Our Movement Today!

Welcome all readers and followers! I would like to welcome you to today's SPECIAL update.

***Make Your Contribution Now By Clicking HERE ***

We are on the verge of a food revolution in this beautiful world we call home.  It involves the banishing of GMO (genetically modified organisms/food) and corporatized farming and the ushering in of locally grown and organic foods. These foods are taken care of and loved from seed to plate and that is exactly what we are doing here with AgriDome Community Farms. Please do also read our mission statement located on our blog HERE

SO...

What will a contribution to AgriDome Community Farms Do?

  1. You will be helping to start a food revolution that looks to change the face of agriculture in a positive way, bringing your food closer to you as well as bringing back the small farmer and providing a higher standard of work for others (i.e. no slave farm labor that treats immigrants and others like dirt).
  2. You will be helping your local community through the distribution of donations made on behalf of our organization to local causes, groups and charities.
  3. You can also help us replant a rainforest with the Plant a Billion Trees campaign through The Nature Conservancy with a donation of $50 or more!
  4. You can improve you own health with a specially picked health/fitness book with a donation of $150. Receive two health/fitness books when you donate $200 or more!
  5. You also get to see on our blog the progress we are making and what your donations are helping us to do. All actions with your money will be shown one time or another on the blog whether we are buying new supplies, donating to a local cause, adding a new item to our grow list and MUCH MORE!
  6. And... finally. A donation made to AgriDome Community Farms' vision will garner you the most sincere and heartfelt 'thank you' from our team! We sincerely hope to expand this into an urban/rural agricultural phenomenon where all produce is grown at the local level no matter the climate needed. It will be provided, all organic, all chemical free!
As stated above all of our activities will be made public and completely transparent. This is not something that is set to steal money from society. Instead with this project we will be "Paying It Forward".  It will be used to further the vision, be invested and donated again! So all contributions are going to compound as we start to build ourselves and give back. Below you will see a trailer of the fantastic movie, "Pay It Forward" (Warner Bros. Pictures, 2000). This is our mission for your health and the happiness of humanity!

A View From Inside the Growing Facility

This short little update is just to show you some of the things that we currently have going here at our facility. The following pictures are just a small look into our humble beginnings working towards the bigger goal of producing healthy, nutrient dense foods for the local communities in which we are located!

We are currently growing three variety of heirloom organic tomatoes: "Mortgage Lifter" (a large delicious beefsteak variety that heralds from the Appalachian Mountain region of Kentucky and West Virginia), "BellStar" (a variety of Roma or paste tomato) and "Sweet Cherry" (a much improved taste in this variety over most store bought cherry and grape tomatoes which tend to be bitter)

Also on our roster are our three variety of organic peppers, one being an heirloom: "Purple Bell" is our heirloom variety (a purple exterior skin with the inside like a standard green bell pepper, only with a sweeter taste), "Sweet Red Bell" (the standard in red bell peppers for cooking and snacking, all organic) and finally Organic Jalapeno.

Next is our heirloom organic pole bean variety "Kentucky Wonder" (a great tasting summer pole bean variety heralding from the blue-grass areas of Kentucky!)

That is a small representation of what we are doing. We also have some awesome herbal flowers and plants as well! Hope you all have had a wonderful Wednesday and a great rest of your mid August week!

5 Awesome Natural Antibiotics & Anti-virals

NATURALNEWS.COM

This article is brought to you via the above link with some original added content.

Sir Alexander Fleming discovered the antibacterial power of the mold Penicillium notatum in 1928. Even though it was a natural healing agent effective in destroying Staphylococcus aureus and other noxious bacteria, the pharmaceutical industry got hold of nature's bounty and it became -- along with multiple other Big Pharma inventions -- the nightmare of modern antibiotics, causing as many problems for mankind as they were supposed to help. Because of the overuse of antibiotics, super-bugs have developed that are resistant to all but the most powerful drugs, whose side effects are often dangerous.

In nature's infinite wisdom, several other highly effective substances exist with antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties, all able to protect the human body safely and with deep healing powers. You don't have to go much farther than the refrigerator or your pantry cupboard to find safe, delicious foods and herbs to eradicate the most virulent bacteria and viruses.

Garlic

Garlic has been used worldwide for thousands of years for medicinal purposes. This wonder plant treats everything from a simple earache to pneumonia, the bacteria MRSA (Staphylococcus aureus), Helicobacter pylori, the flu and even the black plague. Contemporary research has confirmed that garlic possesses numerous antioxidants that kill bacteria and free radicals in the blood protecting the immune system and making it stronger. Garlic's active ingredient allicin can also attack and destroy a variety of viruses -- unlike modern antibiotics -- as well as fungal infections, such as candida. Taking garlic supplements such as garlic pills and garlic oil capsules as a prophylactic may help to protect against various pathogens and prevent the onset of disease.

When taking garlic supplements it is best to take with a full glass of water which allows the active sulfur compound allicin to break down more in the lower stomach where it can be more readily absorbed into the lymphatic system and then continues to circulate throughout the body as opposed to being over neutralized by acids. You can also set the tablets into a glass of water for 15 minutes to an hour before taking which will deliver the antibiotic compounds into the systems of the body more readily as the garlic has had time to dissolve into the water. This will give you a little garlic taste but is a great way to take your supplement if you can handle the garlic smell and taste. Find out more about garlic here.

Echinacea

Echinacea has been used for hundreds of years to strengthen the immune system and fight a variety of infections. Traditionally, echinacea was used to treat open wounds, diptheria, cellulitis, blood poisoning, syphilitic lesions and other bacterial-related diseases. Although it's mostly used today for fighting colds and flu, this potent herb possesses the ability to destroy the most virulent bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus which causes deadly MRSA.

Echinacea's powerful compounds include interferon and interleukin both of which boost the immune system allowing our bodies to fight disease. Echinacea can be found in numerous forms: herbal teas, drops and supplement pills or capsules. Be cautioned that this herb should be used for a specified amount of time and is not to be used with systematic and auto-immune disorders such as lupus and tuberculosis. Use with HIV/AIDS is controversial and should be researched first. Find out more about Echinacea here and here

Colloidal Silver

The germicidal and antibacterial properties of colloidal silver were discovered almost a century ago. Numerous clinical cases and anecdotal evidence provides us with the knowledge of the power of colloidal silver to kill bacteria, fungal infections and viruses. Even though the FDA has tried to discredit the efficacy of this important healing substance, the effects of colloidal silver in the treatment of bacterial diseases such as MRSA, topical wounds, sores and infections speaks for itself.

Stated in a fantastic article debunking some of the pharmaceutical fears on Dr. Mercola's site:

"When purchasing colloidal silver, it’s very important to avoid silver protein formulas. True colloidal silver seems to be the most recommended, but ionic silver could probably also be used. In the featured study, they used ionic silver (Ag) in a silver nitrate salt (AgNO3), which, again, was found to be quite non-toxic in animals and human cell cultures. Substantial antimicrobial activity was found at 30 microns (μM) against E. coli. If you take ionic silver products according to the manufacturer’s recommended dosage, ionic silver will not cause argyria. That said, since there are potential health risks involved if you select the wrong formula, I recommend you use colloidal silver only under the guidance and supervision of a qualified alternative health practitioner who can help you select a high-quality product".

Pau D'Arco

Pau d'Arco is an herb native to South America whose active ingredient lapachol, has been found to relieve a wide range of infections include those initiated by bacteria, viruses and fungus. Studies suggest that Pau d'arco may also have cancer-fighting properties, although more research is needed. Pau d'arco was used by the Indians of South America to strengthen the immune system and fight life-threatening diseases. It's best consumed as a tea or decoction.

Pao d'Arco's active ingredients include quinones which involve the transfer of hydrogen and electrons and lapachol which is found in the inner bark of the tree. Find out more about this powerful, lesser known herbal remedy here.

Manuka Honey

The most delicious and deadly agent that works to kill bacteria is Manuka honey, which comes from Australia and New Zealand. Researchers have discovered that Manuka honey applied topically can kill a wide range of pathogens, including MRSA and flesh-eating bacteria. Scientists were pleased by the fact that the treated bacteria didn't build up any resistance, rendering the honey ineffective. Find out more here.

What Is AgriDome Community Farms and What Does It Mean For Our World?

Welcome everyone to our page and project!

AgriDome Community Farms is a concept put together through years of careful observation of the problems that face the modern world and especially the use of land and agriculture.

Our short term goals are to continue getting a small operation going in a controlled greenhouse to offer 100% organic (heirloom when available) produce at a local scale at lower prices. We believe that it just is not fair to price people out of the nutrition that they need. Eventually this would take the form of a co-op that would involve AgriDome Community Farms in multiple communities sharing seeds, recipes and the such. Right now there is a makeshift greenhouse and a few vegetables and herbs. Also just added is organic wheatgrass and some organic sprout varieties. But we would LOVE to expand and through your help we can! We encourage you to follow us on Facebook as well at:

https://www.facebook.com/AgridomeCommunityFarm

for updates, health news and info on produce, herbs, vitamins and MUCH more to keep you healthy and happy! You will also notice that we have a donations tab located near the top left corner of our page! Or just Click Here! Donations of any size are always encouraged and you will be able to view what your donations have allowed us to do along the way as we post updates to this page!

Below you will see a full in depth look into what AgriDome Community Farms really looks to accomplish out of our small humble beginnings.

FUTURE VISION OF AGRIDOME COMMUNITY FARMS

While we continue to ship produce and other grown food products sometimes thousands of miles, many do not stop to realize the freshness of the produce has been reduced 30-50% over a 5-10 day shipping. Not only is our produce not always the freshest but it is also shipped via train, truck, boat or plane, all of which contribute to air, soil and water pollution.

As the world's population continues to grow our need for food production also grows. Farming as it is in most of the world today with the largely commercialized aspect has taken a toll on an industry that should be more personable. We've also depleted our soil of nutrients at an alarming rate through over tilling and other intensive agricultural practices such as herbicides, pesticides, GMOs etc. We should take pride in what we eat and know exactly what it is, how it was produced and where it came from. This is where AgriDome Community Farms step in.

There are numerous urban agricultural plots, gardens and greenhouses across the globe that have given a great start to a growing movement. With our idea we look to have a facility that will be a 100% contained environment that is free of contaminants and uses the purest water, air and soil possible for maximum nutrient density in the foods grown and produced. There will be differing rooms environmentally regulated to simulate the foods optimum growing habitat (temperature, moisture, light etc.). This ultimately would mean fruits such as acai, banana, mango and coconuts could be grown year round, anywhere on the planet. Or cooler climate crops could be grown in the dead of summer in the tropics. In addition less and less land will be needed for agricultural production and could be returned to it's natural state to be used as pasture, nature parks and protected lands.

The produce and food produced from AgriDome Community Farms would be shipped directly into the local community. Restaurants, grocers, food banks, churches, schools, the farmer's markets and citizens would have a direct link to the facility for any and most fresh food needs.

There will also be an organic store and restaurant attached to the facility where all food will be prepared from the produce and animal products grown and or raised in house. Facility Informational Tours also are a great potential to give the community a look at it's growers and volunteers and an educational tool for not only school age children and teens but adults as well.

Click here for an excellent study done on the benefits of urban agriculture for further reading!

And lastly the AgriDome Community Farm would be a source for civic benevolence/donating. A greater portion of profits earned would be donated directly back into the community or city. Just some examples that have been reviewed would be money for the park districts, streets and highway projects/upgrades, beautification projects, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, local charities, libraries, schools (boosters, music/art programs etc.), hospitals, farmer's markets and other civic celebrations like parades and fireworks and many MANY more!

We would so much appreciate any kind of donation that you can make. Even a few dollars goes a long way when sharing this great opportunity for our world with your friends and family. We truly hope to bring a unified force to the urban and local farming movement through co-oping. Together we can change our world, our health and our future!

Sincerely,
Rich Barrett
